Three days rather than two, since the Faire opens on Labor Day as well. Come as any era or genre you like — fantasy, sci-fi, steampunk, straight cosplay — and there are costume and trivia contests plus the Time Travelers Ball. Sterling Forest turns into a 16th-century English village for the weekend — jousting on the Roselawn field, roving performers, artisan stalls across 65 acres. Gates 10:00, entertainment to 19:00. It is an hour north of the city off Route 17A and parking opens at 07:00, so the traffic advice is to go early. VIP joust seating is $30 a head on top of admission.
